Statement
I have always been in awe of the beauty of God’s creation. I find myself inspired to try to recreate what I have enjoyed observing so I can share it with others. I am so grateful for the art education, experience, and friendships Olivet provided. Dr. Collins and Prof. Greiner inspired me with their significant artistic talent and helped prepare me for a career in graphic design. What a blessing to earn a living doing something I love to do!
“Catch” gave me the opportunity to try to recreate the majesty of an osprey skillfully plucking a fish from a mountain stream.
“Lighthouse” is a conglomeration of a number of images used to create this stormy scene. One of my favorite songs growing up was "The Lighthouse" sung by the Cathedrals. This image was inspired in part by that song.
“Winter Train” was created as a gift for a young cousin of mine who had a fascination with trains. This pastel drawing captures the cold of a wintery evening and the power of an old steam locomotive as it powers its way over the crest of a mountain pass.
