Artist Statement
This collection of work explores the thought process while reflecting and praying shown through the creation of mandalas and papermaking. Heavy, large, and challenging concepts can often leave one more confused and discouraged. Utilizing the repetitive nature of these styles allow consistency and ability to freely gather understanding and perspective while providing an opportunity for quiet reflectiveness. Inspired by Buddhist Monks who created mandalas and destroyed them, the destruction process is key to final understandings.
