Artist Statement
This exhibition explores the connection between sight, scent, and memory, particularly those that evoke the warmth and vibrancy of summer. Each piece serves as a visual homage to the sensory experiences that define the season of summer, inviting viewers to journey back to sun-soaked days and the simple joys they hold.

Through vivid colors and flowing compositions, I focus on the elements that encapsulate summer’s essence. For instance, a painting of an orange branch captures not just the bright hue of the fruit but the sweet, tangy aroma that permeates the air during its peak season.

The technique used in my works is called color drenching, which is an interior design technique where a color encapsulates a room to overwhelm the senses in an emotion. My work similarly drenches the frame and canvas to engulf the viewer in a sensory memory.

My intention is to provoke a visceral response, urging the viewer to reminisce on their own summers past; to breathe in the fragrance of a memory; a whiff of summer nostalgia.
