Artist Statement
Unfolding your identity: A journey of Self-Discovery and Purpose
Many believe that the past shapes you, but I’ve come to see that it not only teaches... it transforms. The pivotal moments we experience in life imprint themselves on our souls, defining who we are and guiding us toward who we are meant to become. Our experiences are the bridges that lead us to the deeper understanding of our true selves and our potential. Yet, when asked, "How would you describe yourself?" many of us hesitate, unsure of the answer. This uncertainty reflects how little we know about the essence that makes us unique, “our identity”, the very core of what it means to live with purpose and create change.
My project is an intimate exploration of my journey toward discovering my identity, from the origins of my story to the present moment. Each piece is a reflection of a specific chapter in my life, a visual narrative of the lessons learned and the growth that followed. These moments, whether joyful or challenging, have shaped me into the person I am today, forging my character and strengthening my purpose. I chose to display my work as posters because, when I look back, I see my life as a movie, filled with both good and difficult situations that constantly make me reflect on how far I’ve come and the lessons I’ve learned.
"Unfolding Your Identity, Recognizing Your Purpose, and Responding to Your Calling" invites you to look inward, to reflect on the moments that have brought you here, and to embrace the power of every experience. Through this series, I hope to inspire others to see the beauty in their own journeys, to realize that each step, whether triumphant or painful, is essential to discovering who you truly are and living out the purpose you were created for.
